If you are attending the 5th Congress of the World Union of Wound Healing Studies next week in Florence, we recommend catching the short oral presentation that will be given by Nicci Aylward-Wotton (Tissue Viability Nurse of the year 2016).
Her presentation entitled "Can Xsensor ForeSite PT Facilitate Patients' and Carers' Decision Making in Pressure Ulcer Prevention in the Community Using Continuous Pressure Monitoring?" will be hosted during session 2C in Hall Raffaello, on Tuesday September 27th, between 2:00pm and 6:00pm.
Go along and hear the findings Nicci has to share.
Today is the first of a week full of sessions across the country, featuring Bart Van der Heyden (Physical Therapist). His talks involving the Foresite SS pressure mapping system demonstrate the peak pressure points that could easily develop into pressure damage.
As you can see from the photos, everyone is getting involved.
This week we were at the 2016 Posture and Mobility Group Conference. if you saw us there, you may have noticed some new products mixed in with the familiar ones - and some new prices too!
Those familiar with the Uniroll range were pleasantly surprised to discover the incredible price drop on the Phönix and Goliath that we presented. And yes, they really are £650 and £995 respectively.
We also introduced many to the partnership between Sumed and Alu Rehab, with the Netti tilt-and-recline range of wheelchairs. The Netti Dynamic was well received at PMG conference, with all its responsive features.
If you didn't have the opportunity to see or visit us at the conference, get in touch with our office or your area manager to find out more about the new, and refresh your memory about everything else.
Call 01457 890 980 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
And of course, thank you to PMG for having us.
Patient Safety? How new technologies can deliver improved patient outcomes in pressure ulcer prevention.
Sumed has been recommended for accreditation after we met the 2015 Environmental Management System standards (ISO14001:2015).
ISO 14001:2015 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and can be certified to. It maps out a framework that a company or organisation can follow to set up an effective environmental management system. It can be used by any organisation regardless of its activity or sector.
Using ISO 14001:2015 can provide assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.
Learn more about the benefits of ISO 14001:2015.
Sumed are currently certified to ISO 9001: 2008, and we are in the midst of intergrating our management systems to incorporate ISO 13485: 2012, ISO 14001: 2015, and ISO 9001: 2015.
We hope to be certified by this spring!

The scope of the EMS includes all activities, products and services carried out at Sumed’s manufacturing and warehouse facility based in Hadfield, Glossop.
Our EMS includes the needs and expectations of interested parties including compliance obligations and takes into account external and internal issues, which may affect the intended outcomes of the management system.

Exciting opportunity to understand new research into the causes of pressure ulcers AND EARN CPD POINTS!
For almost 20 years, Prof. Amit Gefen – Department of Biomedical Engineering, Tel Aviv University and past President of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) – has been reviewing current thinking and conducting ground breaking research to try to better understand the causes of pressure ulcers.
In a series of two 1-hour lectures produced in association with Sumed, Prof. Gefen explains his research and fascinating conclusions which, he believes, can lead to increased 'safe-seating' time.
Once you've watched both lectures, simply follow the instructions to print out your self-certified CPD certificate.
