Maintaining Your Cushion

Note

This guide has been designed to help you! your carer/ relative to easily check your product on a daily basis - but only AFTER it has been initially set by a trained Therapist.

It CANNOT be used if the Therapist has set ISOFLO ® Memory Control as a part of the user's 'Positioning Therapy' (always ask your Therapist if in doubt).

step 11 If your cushion has a cover in place - remove it

step 22 The cushion will most probably look like this
THIS IS NORMAL - some cells should crush down

step 33 If your product has an 'ISOFLO @, Memory Control,
ensure it is in the 'OPEN' position

step 44 Starting from an outer edge, compress the air cells down, one by one, expelling all the air from them, forcing it into the other cells as shown here -

step 55 Continue doing so, pushing each cell and expelling all the air from each cell, holding them all down, as shown here

step 66 Now count all the cells you have compressed down

step 77 Write down the number of 'crushed cells' you have
counted on the back of the cushion, or make a clear
note of this and keep it near to the cushion

You now have a clear guide as to how many cells you need to crush down in order to check if there is sufficient air in the product.

If all cells pop up when you crush this amount of cells, then there is no need to adjust the air content.

If more cells than noted are compressed before all the other cushion cells inflate, then a LITTLE more air may be pumped into the cushion - but only enough to allow inflation of all the cells by crushing the amount of cells originally noted.

Take care NOT to over-inflate the cushion - i.e. If you crush fewer cells than originally noted down after you've inserted more air - remove a little until the same amount of cells you noted previously are inflating the cushion.
