SUMED PrimeNest Cushion

The PrimeNest cushion is a low profile cushion designed for prolonged balanced sitting in wheelchairs and the prevention of pressure sores. It incorporates an anatomically contoured ABS base which effectively redistributes body weight, promotes better balance, inhibits sacral sitting and eliminates the "sling" effect, whilst increasing sitting tolerance.

The Akton^® viscoelastic polymer pad is a medically proven material for the prevention of pressure sores. It acts like a human skin minimising friction between body and pad, quickly moulding to body surface shape and stabilising skin temperature in the sitting area, while at the same time reducing perspiration.

The low profile design provides the wheelchair user with a readily functional sitting height, which often eliminates the need to modify the wheelchair. It also dampens vibration and requires little or no maintenance. The system may be modified quickly and easily by means of customised components to suit individual needs.
