Ciltech™ Scar Management Application Techniques
General Guidance
- Before applying any Ciltech™ treatment, wash skin in mild soap and water and dry thoroughly.
- Continue Ciltech™ gel or sheet treatment for at least two months or longer if necessary.
- Ciltech™ should not be used on broken skin, wounds or mucous membranes.
- Do not use Ciltech™ sheets or gel over topical steroids.
- For external use only.
Gel
- Apply gel as a very thin film and leave to dry completely.
- Gel can be applied to all parts of the body.
- Re apply gel twice daily or more frequently if required.
Sheet
- Ciltech™ sheets should be placed directly on the skin over the scar – medical tape can be used to supplement self-adhesive properties, if required.
- Leave sheet in place for 24 hours then remove and re-apply after washing skin.
- Apply new sheet every 3-7 days depending on dressing condition.
- Ciltech™ should be used continuously for at least 2 months.
Some scars may need a longer period of continuous treatment before an improvement can be seen.
